The wheelbase is not recorded in the data set in the vehicle data memory leading to implausible steering or braking interventions by the ESP (Electronic Stability Programme). If, during an ESP intervention, the service brake is applied, the full effect may be delayed, which could initially be perceived by the driver as a brake failure. That would lead to a braking delay and thus to a longer braking distance.
